Slow. But that's not the movie's fault. It's a well done version of one of the more interesting of Shakespeare's histories. I keep to the comedies and tragedies though.

Whether intentionally or not, the heroic epic poetry of The Bard juxtaposed with Branagh's realistically gritty and violent aesthetics injects a sense of absurdity and misguided patriotism to the play - but not enough to diminish the impact of the St. Crispin's Day Speech.

Visually underwhelming, seriously overwrought and rather dull. Even the finest of speeches wouldn't be able to save this piece of theatre, and lo and behold 'St. Crispin's Day Speech' is way too little, way too late. While there's no arguing with Shakespeare's linguistic skills, he seems so in love with words that the story be damned, and so, there's not actually a lot happening. And on that note: You can type that shit, Shakespeare... but you can't say it.

Certainly a die-hard adaptation of the Bard - it was also not that interesting for me (actually, rather standard). Good, and one of the more masterful Shakespeare films, but nothing I would say makes it stand out among all the other films in the world.

Hal's not evil, exactly, just a sad and sanguinary victim-hero of "adulthood" (note that the victory at Agincourt had zero long-term benefits for perfidious Albion). Branagh pulls off the plum gig (barely), but the real star here is Brian Blessed as Exeter: an immense badass with brains, teeth, and brawn. It's no wonder the camera often cuts to his merest facial expressions: young Branagh knew Blessed had his back. Derek Jacobi as the very vigorous Chorus is also a real treat.

Branagh makes a near perfect Hal in this lovely adaptation of my favorite of the histories. The Agincourt speech gives me goosebumps every, every time. And, I must mention Jacobi, whose narrartor is splendid. Lovely!

As close to what the Bard might have intended as we're gonna get. Branagh is a master.

Muddy visuals - which fit the plot, of course, but aren't an attractive aspect at all - and a rather unmemorable execution. Brannagh succeeded better in his mammoth "Hamlet" adaptation.

Absolutely stunning, Branagh is fantastic as per usual, and this movie has some of the most moving dialogue, courtesy of The Bard. If you don't like Shakespeare you won't like this movie, but if you do it's fantastic.

This is the best interpretation of Shakespeare I might ever see. Kenneth Branagh does an excellent job making the sometimes unfamiliar words seem very meaningful. All of the actors are truly excellent, and the fight scenes are the best close-combat work I have ever seen. Great stuff.
