Supporting characters r 1 dimensional & the 3rd act falls in2 predictable formula, but films this honestly good-natured don't come around everyday. Ritter's got an inherent likeability u can't help rooting 4 & like Christopher Reeve, makes an unfailingly good-hearted character seem genuinely plausible. The high-concept idea's played 4 family viewing but at least it's original & Archer, as a surprisingly independent romantic interest, joins Ritter in making this a sweetly entertaining diversion

An enjoyable comedy that has a strong and very funny intro, and for its time, an original premise. Unfortunately, wanes during its middle portion, as they seemed to be out of ideas to further develop the story. Eventually, we get a satisfactory, if not particularly good ending. Ritter is good, while everyone else is mostly forgettable. It's decent fare, nothing more, nothing less.
