Summary: One of the "Censored 11" banned from T.V. syndication by United Artists in 1968 for alleged racism. Piggy and Fluffy have adventures on a riverboat and Uncle Tom is chased by skeletons promising to take him to Hallelujah Land.
I would dearly love to know what part of this is supposedly "racist". I'm guessing it's people brainwashed by a lifetime of liberal media shouting and screaming about "racism" under every rock and dark corner, because there sure as hell isn't any here. What there is is a fast-paced, energetic short with lots of action sequences, non-stop music, and several creative scenes. While it's quite simple, it's reasonably entertaining, especially for kids.
Pointless randomness punctuated with bad music and ridiculously dated racial stereotypes. A lot of these early toons were just shit, regardless of the controversial content.
Of the Censored Eleven that I've watched so far, this is probably the one that least deserves its place on the list. Aside from one character whose called Uncle Tom, there really is very little that one could find offensive in this short.
