Borne of a political opinion that TV's usually too terrified to express, Homecoming unfortunately fails to function as a worthy new addition to the zombie genre, due mostly to Dante's complete lack of subtlety and dubious grasp on tone (does it want to be serious or satirical?). This hardly seems like the work of the witty maestro behind Gremlins and Small Soldiers -- films echoed more by the MoH contributions of Coscarelli and Landis.

Cool concept and some genuinely funny moments while serving as a not-so-subtle slight against the Iraq war.

I wanted to like this so fuckin' bad... not least because, coincidentally, I saw it on Election Day. Unfortunately, its wit can scarcely cut hot butter, and it may very well be the most heavy-handed "movie" I have ever seen. One laugh, but I've already forgotten what it was. The scene in the cafe doesn't exactly bear a master's touch, either, but it was at least a relief. Dante is another "Master of Horror" I haven't taken seriously for years

hilarious, fresh, original, and awesome, although if you're looking for a horror movie this is not for you. it's really a political movie that just happens to have zombies, kind of a yin to night of the living dead's yang. if this were to really happen, that would show those damned conservatives!

Heavy-handed and ridiculous. Still, any movie that casts an Ann Coulter analogue and has her brains eaten is worth 25 points from me.
