Look, I hated this one as a little kid; it was just too damn long, boring, and I thought The Elephant was an irritating pussy, not a sympathetic protagonist. What's the message supposed to be? Throw your entire life away for an uncertain sliver of hope? Great morale for the kids Dr. Seuss, you smarmy asshole, you!

A very pleasant surprise. One of the very best of this kind of movie. A kids' film that shows that tolerance and space travel are damn fine ideas

Standard Dr. Seuss fayre. Will probably compare favourably with yet more overblown Jim Carey nonsense in the new version.
