The comedy here is just a little too thin to completely captivate. I refer Jack Lemmon fans to 'Irma La Douce' for something a little better.

can be slow paced at times, but has some wonderful gags, and it pulls you in right from the begining, and the end really does pay off. jack lemmon is--as always--great, and the other players are above average. could have used some more humor, a lot more, but stands as a satisfactory movie.

Dated and sexist... but overall, just not that funny.

Hasn't aged well, but the jokes are still funny. Despite somewhat slow pacing and an overdone trial scene (although the climax is great), the story is really touching if you can sit through the whole thing. The cast is wonderful, and Lemmon's character is likeable in his chauvinism. As charming as it is witty.
