Summary: Acclaimed Oscar-winning filmmaker Ang Lee turns his masterful eye to adapting the classic Marvel Comics character for the big screen. (Universal Pictures)
The best part about this movie was when my friend and I walked from the theatre back to the car, got in, then someone said, "That was one of the worst movies ever." After that, it was probably the funniest conversation I ever had about a movie - a horrible, horrible, horrible piece of crap movie.
Admirable intentions in making a comic book movie, but Lee fails to realize that his source is a simple character who exists only for the "cool factor."
Although the movie is dramatic and emotional, but the action sequence seems poorly handled which make the character Hulk lack of anger.the whole experience seems missed the point being a superhero movie.
I wish "dissapointed" could be spelled different ways, so that I wouldn't have to write the same word over and over in this review. Worst Marvel movie out there. Casting was good, you already KNOW the background story is good.... so what happened guys?
This movie clearly has pretensions to "probe deeply" into the character of the protagonist. From the moment the "hulk" first appears, however, the film descends to a point which is beyond silly. In the end, it is nearly unwatchably tedious.
I wanted to like this film since I read Hulk comics as a child but it's a messy failure. The action scenes are not memorable since the film does not have a clear enemy Hulk could fight against. Ang Lee tries to build a story about the suffering of the main character and his problems but the audience would like to see more of Hulk destroying and fighting against something more than mutated dogs. I think Ang Lee missed the point of the superhero/thing film altogether.
Booooring! We dont' see the Hulk til halfway through the movie, then it just kind of falls apart there. Definitely an example of a bad comic book movie.
