I do admire the audaciousness of Tom Six's ballsy give-no-shit-how-sick-the-world-thinks-I-am approach to filmmaking, but that doesn't necessarily mean the film itself is doing anything particularly interesting. Which it isn't. That said, the shitting scene was a delightful little bit of gross-out comedy.

There is a quite bare plot line here, a rotund security guard fetishizes over the original film and aims to better his idol. I was looking for a film a while ago which represents self-indulgence, I suppose this fits that category, however I also think the first film features in it's reiteration, purely to insult the audience. THC2 has stumbled upon a way to provoke a kind of fear of the awful concepts we are capable of. Featuring the original isn't as terrible as some of the gore, but still..

Story could of been better, the first half was pretty slow and the second half had me laughing a few times. Yes it's sick, yes it's disgusting, but I think it lacked suspense which made it feel like just a gore flick. If you're desensatised to gore then it's pretty boring - if you're squimish then you'll probably find it a real 'shocker'.

I loved Laurence R. Harvey and the fact he didnt utter a single word throughout the whole movie. Very well done for an original horror movie! Black and white, extremely graphic, eery, and violent. I can understand the critics/haters, but if Horror is what you came for, horror is what you got.

What I can't figure out is how an audience for this shit actually exists. Have to admit, though... the B & W look is impressive, and Laurence R. Harvey does a great job.

So this was pretty much the first film, except in black and white and even trying harder to shock with overuse of theatrical effects. When there is no underlying sense of dread or a reason to be scared, and with being desensitized from Hollywood gore, there was really nothing redeeming about this, apart from Laurence Harvey who fits perfectly for his role. Too bad he had to debut in this horrible piece of mockery of a horror film. Tom Six really is the worst writer to come along in years.

tom six furthers his unnatural anal fixation, only this time upping the ante by adding more butts and staples instead of sutures. sure, it's more disgusting, and subsequently better. it, however, is still a far cry from being a good horror movie.

Avoided some of the problems of the first movie while introducing others, notably some weak scripting and performances during those (few) scenes featuring dialogue. Grimier and more unpleasant than the original, which makes it either better or worse depending upon your point of view. Protagonist was certainly memorable. Not awful but difficult to recommend. Saw the cut Australian version.

Tries so hard to say something and be shocking but it's just a pathetic waste of time. The B&W just screams pretentious (adds nothing) and the main actor is incredibly annoying. I guess it's good for some laughs at how bad it is but it has literally no replay value which is ultimately what you need to be a "so bad its good" film. No build up either and is weird just for the sake of it, which is one of the most annoying things in cinema.

To my surprise, there were things to like in this movie. The black and white cinematography gives it a faux-amateur feeling that blends well with the voyeur-sadism it aims for. However, then there's the content: 90 minutes of the most vile shit you can tell pretty much all the thinking involved with this movie was used for. Instead of playing his audience like a piano, the way Hitchcock used to say, Tom Six wants to torture it. Those with masochistic tendencies may assent; for others, pass.

Shit me, this was bad. The black-and-white, use of random tones, awkward silences, and some characters reminded me of Eraserhead - if Eraserhead was made by a complete flailing fucking moron. The cinematography and dialogue are completely hilarious, and I can't tell if this is intentional or not. Being from the UK, I didn't see all of the gory bits, but what was there was totally gross I guess. It was entertaining, but it sucked. Laurence R. Harvey is probably the best actor in the world though

I'm just gonna go ahead and say it..."Human Centipede II" was one of the most entertaining films of this year. Pretty much laughed all the way through which I'm guessing was what Tom Six intended. As the uncut version is currently illegal in the UK I can't give a proper opinion but what's here is still good and features great gore FX. I anticipate Final Sequence and the obligatory BBFC battle.

Again a bizarre and marv choice for the lead. This piece worked somehow better than the first one, though I was not that sure the ending was that well thought. The best of the film was the first half, the preparing. The latter part did not shock that much anymore since it was mere a variation from the first movie. Although I'm anxious to wait how the trilogy will end.

I thought the first film was a great mixture of horror, dark comedy and some twisted ideas. This one doesn't really bother with humor or a decent plot and just goes for plain weirdness and a lot more gore. The main character isn't given any lines at all, which is the first of many big mistakes. The first hour is kind of boring, reminded me of Eraserhead. Then the gore begins.. and this almost makes the saw series look tame. But without a good plot to back it up, it's nothing but torture porn.

A clever response to the serous haters of the first film and anyone who thinks horror movies should be disregarded or banned (ergo making this film's predicament ironic). The shlock in this is better and more graphic than the first (in its uncut form), but the build-up is as usual terrible, with inane characters. The acting is woeful, but I guess when these folks have their faces right up against someone else's ass-crack, then I should reconsider that that's actually pretty marvellous acting.

Much funnier but also much more self-reflexive and self-consciously arty than the original, this sequel runs out of steam and good jokes about halfway through. It's shot and edited more than competently though and i get the feeling that director Tom Six is pretty damn clever. To be honest, I have no idea how to rate it, and that's a recommendation of sorts, I guess.

To call Human Centipede II an abomination might appear to grant Tom Six's film the kind of infamy and outrage he desires. Alas for him, what's most shocking about this barrel-scraping exercise in sub-humanity and gore is the absence of any wit or style. The Centipede films fall back on age-old mad scientist cliches to ignore the power dynamics that drive sadism and brutality, and exaggerate the symptoms for shock without any of the skill that makes the equally grim Hostel: Part II a great work.

First Sequence was all hype and undelivered promises. This time Tom Six really let his twisted creativity loose. Gore is realistic and very nasty, oh and there is plenty of it. But what makes this film worthwhile is 'fuckeupiness' of it. It's close to Visitor Q or Salo in that respect. Again, great casting choise for the lead actor - Laurence R. Harvey is brilliant. I think I'll go to hell for watching this.

Tom Six had promised that this would be much worse than the first, and he achieved his goal with a vengeance. Well, from a cinematic viewpoint it's much better: wisely shot in stark B&W, it features (instead of a stock German sadist) the most owlish psychopath since Richard Attenborough in 10 Rillington, has greater and more succinct action, and basically perfects the concept. Otherwise, be warned: It's the vilest, sickest fiction film this side of the August Undergrounds, or possibly ever.
