Effective in parts, but the elements of arbitrariness come across less as absurd humour and more as sadism.

More Bill! It's essentially a continuation of the last one, and it's just as good. The piece right at the end is one of the most affecting things I've ever seen in film, and it's within a short about stick figures, which speaks volumes. Hertzfeldt has a real gift, and I am excited for the last third of the trilogy. Score is not a grade.

Feels a bit scattered but Hertzfeldt's wry humour is very well done.

I don't know if I like this or EWBOK more, to be honest. I think EWBOK was more solid the entire way through, and was probably "deeper" and gets its point across better. But this has higher highs than EWBOK... like the ending. The ending in this was incredible, and so soul-crushing. So I'm gonna wuss out and give them the exact same score because the quality here is so ridiculous.

More good stuff from Don Hertzfeldt in a sequel to "Everything Will Be OK". Again his unique style of stick-figure animation laden with colorful effects, and themes of mental degeneration, existentialism, and a morbid death-obsession. Not nearly as good as its predecessor, I Am So Proud of You humorously recounts the character Bill's macabre family history in a fashion similar to the crazy life stories told in Adam Elliot movies.

Even better than Everything Will Be Ok. Do yourself a favor and watch it. I don't even want to start describing what it is like.

I preferred this Hertzfeldt short to the first chapter of the Bill saga. The plot was more upbeat (well, generally) and a bit funnier. My friend said "It was good but I can never watch it again, too soul-crushing" and I'm not sure I agree.

This feels... unusually, even surprisingly... epic for Hertzfeldt. It's still juvenile and mean-spirited, just like everything else he does
