Incredibly beautiful and strange but the character development is too weak for the climax to work any way but visually. Bill Plympton's animation is absolutely astounding so if you love animation, you've really gotta see this.

Bizarre fantasy about a newlywed named Grant who suddenly gains the power to bend reality to his will. At first he uses it for typical stupid things, giving his wife giant breasts, etc. But before long, people discover his ability and the evil militaristic TV station SmileCorp tries to capture him for their own nefarious purposes. It's a cartoon, but it has nudity and sex and tons of gore, so it's not one for the kiddies. Funny, strange, and wonderfully imaginative.

"Probably Plympton's best full-length feature, combining the insane comedy of his early years and the sex and gore of his later years. The first half features outrageously funny scenes involving sex, and twisted games with the annoying and resentful in-laws, but the weaker second half gets lost in cartoonish endless violence as the military try to get their hands on his powers with violent, gory and imaginative results. Entertaining and creative."

Everything WORKS, but something like this can only hold you for so long, and this one outstays its welcome even at an hour 20.

The first movie by his I've seen made by Plympton, but it left me really confused. In a good way, of course.
