Just a warning: This is not a romcom. It's not a drama or a comedy either, since it's NEVER fucking funny. EVER. The 'dramatic' portion drags on and on without any apparent point. Never ever watch this piece of monkey shit.

Not bad as Chris Rock tries to do more actual acting and brings less of the Chris Rock as stand-up comic to the role but still the film can be infuriating and kills a lot of good will.

If there was any other entertainment on the airplane I wouldn't have watched this. That being said, I still managed to do 20 minutes of organic chemistry homework mid-flight before I grudgingly decided that Chris Rock being racist was better than backside attacks.

concieved in such a way that chris rock's observations about married life (the anchor of his standup) fall embarrassingly neatly into the mix.kind of a well made movie for what it is (the music choices at least are really something and the cinematography is fairly clean) and it is funny here and there but whatever, chris rock is clearly no filmmaker, whatever aspirations he may have, plus the script sucks lol.

Reasonably good comedy about a married man bored with his life so he starts getting involved with an old friend who's recently come back into his life. It was good in parts but a bit annoying, and even racist, in parts. Chris Rock is good, but an actor you can only take every now and then. Kerry Washington was very convincing as the sultry and very sexy Nikki. Good storyline only thing that was a bit messed up was the final few minutes with a random singing scene.

A dull and overused conceit, with weak performances and a pretty terrible script results in a comedy-drama that really doesn't know what it wants. Unfortunately, it ends up stuck halfway between the two: an unfunny comedy, and a drama in which you struggle to really empathise with any of the characters. One to be actively avoided, unless there really isn't any alternative.

Ok for those of you who are loyal readers of my reviews (all 2 of you) I went back and finished this movie. The ending is pretty sad with the tie around his head reminding him of his kid (just don't ask). Good for you since you went about as far as you possibly could without cheating on your wife. It is still a horrible, degrading and uncomfortable film to watch with others (even for me which is saying something). Stick to the stand-up Chris or more Madagascar fims.
