This could have been good if it had only trusted its own story--slight, but interesting--about an actor hired by British Intelligence to impersonate Montgomery to throw the Germans off the D-Day scent. Instead, it tacks on all sorts of "funny bits" to spark interest and concludes with a bogus--and unbelievable--U-Boat kidnappping to give the whole thing a bang-up Hollywood ending. As a result, some of the film's genuine charm is destroyed. (Mills and James are still worth watching, though.)
