There are some lovely musical numbers, especially from the star herself, Sonja Henie, but I don't think they did ANY research about Iceland (1942) at all. There were more cultural references to everywhere else than the place it was supposedly taking place! Had not the sign said Reykjavik, I wouldn't even know where this was. Nightclubs looked straight out of Hollywood. They did Hawaiian musical numbers. Just a weird dreamy mishmash of Hollywood ideas on how the world outside looks like.
