Summary: Set against the backdrop of a 1930s southern speakeasy, Idlewild explores the lives of Percival (Benjamin), the club's shy piano player, and Rooster (Patton), the club's showy lead performer and manager. I enjoyed this. It wasn't quite a musical, wasn't a long-form music video, and wasn't a straight drama, but it was good. Andre 3000 is a far better actor than Big Boi (or this script played to his strengths better), but both are acceptable.

Idlewild is a decent film with a great cast and a soundtrack that is nothing short of sensational. While I may not be making a second pass at the film, I will be headed out to pick up the soundtrack.

It's pretty much a really long Outkast video with a crappy/cliche story (no Outkast hate intended).

It was more like a long music video than a movie. Most of the songs were from the old records and not the "Idlewild", which was kind of dissapointing. Still, it's worth watching, great dancing scenes.

The style. The music. Absolutely terrific. Quickly, though, several of the big song numbers are actually from previous OutKast albums, most notably Speakerboxxx

Worth it for the kick-ass musical numbers. I thought it was great, but my friend hated it with a passion, so your taste in music really affects how you view the movie.

It feels like a 2 hour outkast music video...Andre delivers a steller performance whilw Big Boi seems to clown around. The swing dance sequnces are fun to watch...
