The good thing about this documentary is that it really tried to keep an objective point of view by showing both sides of story and presenting facts. The whole story of what these people did is respectable and agree with in preserving our Earth and not blindly destroying forests, but the way that they went about their so-called terrorism could've been done in a much more constructive and intelligent manner. It was youthful arrogance in my opinion, but terrorism is a strong word for it.

A documentary that succeeds immensely thanks to its responsibility in striving for filmic truth. It's powerful because its scale remains small despite being about a bigger issue, and within its short running time it manages to bring a lot of perspectives to a divisive issue. In other words, it feels remarkably complete. Were these arsonists misguided? Certainly, but it's easy to see how they could rationalize their behavior when their voices meant nothing in a warped and corrupt political system

A pretty good doc that tells the story of some "grubby hippies" who go a bit overboard in their zeal to stop the wholesale destruction of the environment. What they did was wrong, imo, but then branding them as terrorists is even more ridiculous.

It's a shame that this documentary was so indecisive because there was some potential to explore the ideas here in greater depth rather than trying to present the story in an pseudo-objective light. Instead of having balance, we have a film that never accurately portrays the views of the subject, which makes this documentary a failure in principle. Fortunately there's a few interview portions that redeem the film from total failure.

On the debate on whether it's terrorism or not, it's not really. Can't say I agree with their tactics, or that of the other side. Good enough doc that serves well to highlight some issues

"The doc manages to drive home the notion that, however much one might disagree with ELF's tactics, their point of view holds a lot of truth." - Lauren Wissot

It gives you both sides of the story to some degree. Ultimately it comes down to whether you agree with the tactics or not, but it does a beautiful job of at least presenting actual information and not misinformation. The debate of peaceful/non-peaceful protest and "terrorism" will rage on, but viewers should at least be able to see that the E.L.F. aren't just crazies. The ending was perfect and heart-breaking and says that same type of thing.

Clearly maps out the steps in which a young man first becomes aware of the damage big industry is doing to our environment, then gets engaged and finally enraged. The E.L.F. has been branded the biggest national terror organization in the US while none of their property attacks have resulted in a single death. In addition to being a suspenseful story this complicated doc is also a timely reminder to Wall Street protestors that the state will strike down hard.
