When Neil Hardwick was making TV series Off the Map and he saw The Singing Detective by Dennis Potter, he re-edited his story. Now people thinks that If You Love is after Lars von Trier but they're wrong. It's after Lipstick on Your Collar by Dennis Potter. Unfortunately ambitious project did not work that good. There was a lot of good song choises, the script works (mostly) okay, but the flick did not. Sarah Kivi was good, none of leads, and only a few of songs worked nicely.
