The story is about a guy who can't decide which girl to choose and whether or not he should follow in his fathers footsteps. It tries to create humor by adding in odd eccentric characters from the small town, but most of those attempts fall flat. There is a tragic event that is mentioned several times throughout the movie that I would expect to have a large impact on the characters, but instead of delving into something that might be interesting, Reed Fish follows the predictable rom-com path.

*MILD SPOILERS* Started out okay, but 30 minutes in it reveals that the whole thing is a movie-in-a-movie, at which point I spent a good 5 minutes staring at the screen trying to figure out WHY. Even after the movie ended, it still seemed like an unnecessary convention that hurt the flow of the movie & lowered the stakes involved. It makes it really hard to care about what happens with the characters in the end.

Slightly less than below-average. Yup, that sums it up. Baruchel can never do any wrong in my eyes, as he's entertating just being himself. But the whole enterprise is just a little slight and lacking in substance (and jokes). There were flashes of genuine "quirkiness" (obviously, the filmmakers were going for this), but on the whole it was pretty forgettable.

Stop zorsing around! Jay Baruchel was in it and it kept me entertained, so I didn't dislike it, but it's got its flaws (e.g. it's a movie about a movie and is a little pretentious). Netflix, yes. Buy the DVD, no.

Jay Baruchel and Rory Gilmore should be ashamed of themselves. I did not laugh once in this movie. I got it because my date and I had like previous work by these two with Undeclared and Gilmore Girls, but this flat out bombed. My date fell asleep pretty quickly into it, neither of us laughed at all. I just don't get how a cast with those two and SNL's Parnell and even DJ Qualls couldn't find any jokes. BOOOO!!!!!!!!

An interesting enjoyable movie. It's unique in some ways and pretty predictable in others, and the movie within a movie concept could've been done better, but overall worth a watch.
