Makes '300' look smart and humble.

I thought I was going to like it, at least on a superficial level. I think Tarsem is talented with visuals, so I thought that the imagery would at least hold my interest. But no. This movie is lifeless and boring. The action is okay, but this movie is just not that easy to watch.

Surprisingly, but I loved this one! The effects were outstanding and the story was interesting enough to follow and not to get bored.

Visually as far as scenery and battles go, this was excellent. Some cast members were good, others were horrible. The story felt like a like there was no life to it. 3D enhanced the scenery and battles, but that was about it.

Plenty of slick visuals and fighting. It's everything else that was in between that is so silly, stupid or boring that drags it down.

Tarsem Singh is like one of those sidewalk artists who can paint you an aesthetically pleasing portrait or landscape in 20 minutes that's technically sound but devoid of any substance or real talent. There's scene after cgi scene of fancy costumes being paraded about and probably a full hour of slow-mo action scenes but everything is completely lacking in a soul or real interest shown by the film maker. The acting and script is a horrendous afterthought. Rourke phones it in all the way.

Basically it's a long boring slog, then there is one cool visual effect in the whole movie and it is repeated over and over again for about ten minutes, followed by more boring slog to the end. Who are these people? Where are the places they keep naming? Where is this wall and why is it important? Why should I care about any of the people on screen? No answers to be found to any of these questions. For a stylised sword and sandal epic of far superior quality, watch Spartacus (the TV series).

Had not watched such a dull movie for a while.

Nothing special but the fighting scenes were quite good.

The visual style is appealing even though the effects at times are a bit dodgy. Tarsem is talented but all his films are heavily flawed and he needs to find a well written script that suits his style. He has so far only made boring eye candy.

The visuals made it bearable for me, but it's undeniable this is a very bad movie.

The action would be considered ridiculous to anyone who doesn't play the goriest games on the planet, it's worse than 300 at times in terms of bits of brain displayed. The mortal combat is pretty solid (the slow-mo isn't frustratingly overdone), but the moments with the gods are sometimes a bit too much (their outfits are far too flamboyant, even for ancient super-heroes). Might as well stop beating around the bush, someone please push out a God of War movie.

Visual it's stunning, the story is ok, but the two main actors (hero and oracle) casting could be better!

Yeah, on visual site this look like "300" - just ok. But all interesting what I saw is in the screenplay. On the one hand Hyperion is a tough, bad son of a bitch who fights for freedom from the hands of the gods. On the other hand we have handsome Theseus who struggling to keep the dominance of the gods. Who do you support? Reason loses in the struggle with obedience and injustice.

Sense. This movie makes none.

What a dumb movie full with plotholes. Why do they bring an oracle to the salt mines? What was the point of the traitor, what was the point of any character besides the main 3, why did Poseidon jump in the water.... the list is endless. The only thing worth watching is the battle between the "gods" and the "titans".

Incoherent piece of shit.

And there I was, 20 minutes into the movie, thinking this is going to be an aesthetically bold, minimalistic abstraction of Greek mythology... Oh boy.

Not bad, but not great either. Just great eye candy.

I would watch 'Immortals' again for auteur Tarsem Singh's bold visuals and magnificent production design. I wouldn't watch 'Immortals' again for its lacking, lame, dull-as-a-doorknob hero caught in the middle of an anciently generic 'Conan the Barbarian' story that dips its toe in Roman mythology for a few minutes worth of material before calling it a day.

Godawful movie with no redeeming qualities other than it could've been worse.

Uma das coisas que mais me chamou a atenção no filme é com relação a fotografia. Muito linda e realça o tom mitológico da trama que ali se passa. Mickey Rourke ficou bem legal como o rei Hiperião. Fora isso o filme é mais uma história que utiliza a mitologia greco-romana como pano de fundo.

Beautifuly shot with fantastic art deirection and cinematography. Pity the storyline does not match the technical aspects of the film. The lead lady is eye candy in the best possible sense.

Like Singh's The Cell Immortals is a visual spectical that is can be utterly marvelous but lacks any other substance. The acting is terrible, the plot is downright stupid in parts and, surprisingly, sometimes the sets are pretty bad too, clearly being on relatively small sound stages. That said there are moments of visual brilliance but Singh still hasn't landed a film that's more than just spectacle.

The visuals were impressive enough, but even the cast seemed bored with the story.

You Are Kidding Me, Right?

I have always been a fan of Greek Mythology. This movie takes what I love and adds a bunch of gruesome violence and epic battles to the mix for a very fun and stylistic movie. I thought the idea of the bow was a very cool relic to go after and the threat of the Titans being released added some tension to the movie. Mickey Rourke was a great bad guy and Henry Cavill is a good guy to be reckoned with. Everything looked so beautiful in this movie, even the gory parts seemed like art. Very fun!

Unsatisfying mix between Clash of the Titans, 300, and a french fashion show. Singh's style seems a natural combo with this type of story, but there simply weren't enough moments where he could go all-out with memorable stuff. The climactic battle was pretty damn awesome, but it's not enough to carry the rather lame story. And what's up with Rourke's villain helmet? He looks like a bunny with that thing on. And only Monty Python knights fear bunnies. Silly Rourke.

All the ingredients are there, but they forgot to actually cook a meal. What a waste of all these actors and visuals.

Probably the most beautiful absolutely terrible movie I've ever seen.

so it takes all the stupid slow-mo out of 300 and uses it's own different brand of slow-mo, you know, the not stupid kind. this one also omits the stylistically retarded bits of 300. so it's like 300, but not dumb; or like clash of the titans, but not shitty. now, if it had a little more substance, it'd be pretty awesome.

Tarsem will always hold a place in my heart for "The Fall," and his visuals here are as gorgeous as ever, but the story is lacking. It's overly long. It's greatest feat is making the trident awesome. I've always thought of it as a somewhat useless weapon (you throw it once and then it's gone?) but here it is the coolest weapon of all.

Visually very enjoyable, story wise good enough as an excuse for having nicely done battle scenes.
