Modest, mildly humorous sci-fi which has its fun without explaining anything at all.

A small, isolated town devolves into chaos when the entire population is infected by a disease which makes them unable to resist acting on every impulse. Slow paced but it has some cool moments and decent suspense before the cheeseball ending. Meg Tilly is as cute as a button, and a young kid gets mercilessly gunned down by a cop with a chip on his shoulder and an assault rifle. Kinda like The Crazies but not quite as crazy.
