Summary: Kia is a succubus, luring to their final perdition men who already have sinful habits and libertine inclinations. She tires of this, it's too easy, and these souls are going to Hell anyway. (imdb)

Stevens' decision to shoot in Esperanto was an honest but misguided choice. The cast were obviously uncomfortable with the language (Shatner sounds the most natural) and it doesn't add anything to the picture. If just the succubi and incubus had spoken it I guess that would've been cool, otherwise it's not much use. The story behind the production is interesting, and the product isn't without interest, but I could live without seeing it again.

Really not as good as I expected, but I really thought it would be great. But alas this is just not the movie that I thought it would be. It was really quite awful, but I got a good laugh out of it.

I had heard about how awful this film was before viewing it so perhaps I enjoyed it because my expectations were so low. I was expecting Manos: Hands of Fate bad. But I think the story is kind of neat and the cinematography is solid. It's not great nor is it horrible. It's decent artsy-fartsy fun. I think a lot of the disgust for this film comes from the significant amount of nerd-rage surrounding Esperanto.

Not only did this movie suck, but Esperanto sucks also. Everything I'd read about it made it sound like you could just hear it and immediately understand, but I couldn't, and it sounds stupid.

William Shatner is completely believable - while speaking in Esperanto in a film that looks like a Bergman B-picture. A hidden gem.
