A very odd film...probably inspired by someone's dream. Lugosi plays a very good man, driven to senseless crime through no fault of his own. Better to see it, than to explain. Problem: Lugosi on his demented rampages was probably told to act like a sleepwalker, but instead looks like a stumbling drunk. Indeed, Lugosi became an alcoholic, but this is deliberate acting, and fails to convince modern audiences. Otherwise, a surprising and surrealistic story, with many distinctive touches.

Decent production values can't save an inept script and what is easily Lugosi's worst performance. Blond maid is really the only thing left to recommend, and she gets it in the first act.

Mediocre ghost story starring Bela Lugosi, not much else to say about this one.

Bela spends much of his screen time staring out windows in a fairly creaky Monogram quickie. Not as good as _The Corpse Vanishes_ but a must for Lugosi lovers.
