Summary: Ashwathi Varma (Ambika), a reporter for 'Sunday Mirror', tries to expose the underworld criminal-political nexus & the gold smuggling racket of Sagar alias Jacky (Mohanlal), which he jointly runs with Shekaran Kutty (Suresh Gopi), the son of the state Chief Minister. Sagar opposes Shekaran's wishes to expand the business into narcotics, & this makes them fall out with each other.
