Confused, confusing war drama which begins with some intrigue, but falls apart fairly quickly in a never ending series of senseless battle scenes, which never clearly establish their purpose or assist in developing the story. Characters are introduced and dropped with alarming frequency; poor English dubbing also undermines several scenes and performances, though Frobe is exceptional as vicious German general. Eclectic cameo appearances feel awkward and out-of-place.
