We see ants, but we never see The Ant in this episode. This kinda forces us to identify with The Aardvark as "hero", which makes all the pain and suffering through which he goes in the gags even less funny than usual. There was a Pink Panther cartoon also on a desert island, and this cartoon is ended with almost exactly the same gag. Boo, hiss.
