Generally, a good, sweet, cute movie, but there's a theme in here that, well... (CALL THE PLANE "ONE OF THE CROWD"!?)

Not funny, obvious themes, unbearably stupid characters. Even Jack Lemmon is a let down in his debut role.

Has a few bothersome characteristics in common with modern "chick flicks," but it's largely a charming romantic comedy. Judy Holliday is wonderful, as usual, and this instantly became one of my favorite Jack Lemmon roles as well--a different take on the types he usually played.

Damn, that Judy Holliday was great.

definitely a solid flick, which is quite impressive considering it's jack lemmon's first movie role. i dug the plot, but holliday's character was a little thick skulled and extremely vain. a movie that's largely forgotten, but not justifiably.

Despite a script by Garson Kanin and direction by George Kukor, nothing quite works in this film. None of the actors make a real connection with one another, the plot makes next to no sense and the wasted talent became as annoying as seeing Gladys Glover's name everywhere. Pity.
