Summary: Eugene and Jody Scott are paid a surprise visit by a stranger who turns out to be Frank Davies, the father of the original monster baby from the previous film. Davies warns the couple that their unborn child may be similarly at risk, and thereby in mortal danger from a nationwide task force dedicated to destroying the monster infants.

I'll give it the same rating as the first, since there wasn't really a drastic dip in quality and they also added some shit that wasn't in the first one. Keep toeing that line, Larry, you line-toeing son of a bitch.

"The second and third parts of Larry Cohen's It's Alive trilogy are by turns silly and sublime." - Joshua Vasquez

if fatherhood was the original film's central consideration, the expanded scope of the sequel allows cohen an affecting depiction of horrific maternal grief and self-doubt; the culmination comes when kathleen lloyd asks john p. ryan when she'll see her child again and he responds "maybe it's better that you don't," his answer clearly referring to much more than the danger of the child ripping its mother to shreds, and it is in that emotional gulf where the crux of cohen's trenchant genius lays.

Less effective because the babies are too visible for too much of the time.
