Very relatable comedy. I laughed out loud a lot.

Ironically this film was so simple that nothing really developed.

Inane, phony and empty-headed. What's more, it's borderline offensive in its complete detachment from the problems that most people experience, positing as the height of stress the planning of an expensive addition to the already sizable house. Some of this could be forgivable if the comedy was funny in the slightest, but there's a barely a laugh to be found in the strained story that wants so desperately to be farce, but no involved wants to sully their hands with such crass entertainment.

Each "adorable" yet unreal scene is more offensive than the last.

It doesn't have to be complicated. Full of nauseatingly rich people and their petty little problems. Steve Martin was unexpectedly muted and Alec Baldwin was expectedly sleazy. There are some funny moments, most of which involve John Krasinski's character (who stole the show). If you want a truly complicated story watch Precious. But if you are old, affluent, and crave old jokes about old people and laugh-less situational comedy, then be my guest and enjoy It's Complicated.

The cast is charming enough that you won't be bored, but the story goes very little beyond, "I hate you! I love you! I hate you! Let's be friends."

Charming at times, although by the end Steve Martin's the only character you can really still sympathize with. Feels directionless, but fans of mild wit may get a kick out of it. Not terrible, but terribly dull.

Very weak film. Weak/non-existent story. Rare humor, no drama, weak dialog... The most memorable moments are the scenes that should have been cut.

sad to see all these wonderful actors drowning in this bad bad script which is terribly shallow and not funny at all...

meryl streep, alec baldwin and steve martin all in the one movie?!?! well fuck me stupid, would ya!?

Krasinski really knocks his role out of the park, and it's wonderfully refreshing to see Steve Martin playing it subtle. Even Baldwin has his moments, hidden under a layer of charming (but ultimately likeable) sleaze. The only real problem here is Streep -- or, more accurately, the fact that Nancy Meyers only seems capable of writing dialogue that portrays her as a dull, insipid, washed-out and charmless woman with no real sense of being. There are laughs here, sure, but frustrations galore.

Wonderful cast, from the parents all the way down to the children. Cute story. Enjoyable.
