Summary: A 19th Century French Robin Hood. Jacquou is a young farmer's son living in southwest of France (Perigord) in 1815. After Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo, returning noblemen are persecuting everyone who supported Napoleon or fought as a soldier in his army. The enmity of the cruel and arrogant Count of Nansac causes the death of Jacquou's parents. He is reduced to begging and starving in the cold. His mother's last wish is for him to avenge his father's death.
