Summary: Assistant Commissioner of Police & communist R.D. Nayanar (Suresh Gopi) quits his job & moves to Calcutta to join politics after his bitter struggle to bring Prathapa Varma (Devan) of the Ilayidathu Palace, whom he suspected of the murder of Police Commissioner Maya Pillai (Vani Viswanathan), ended in Varma & his goons brutally assaulting & crippling Nayanar.
