Summary: Jason Voorhees, iconic movie villain, returns to the screen after a nine-year absence in the 10th installment of the classic Friday the 13th film series. (New Line Cinema)
Reviewing: James Isaac lifts Jason on a new level. Jason X is a nice combination of teenage slasher and scifi. The beginning is very, very good. The story is nothing special, it's full of bad scifi clichés and the inner logic does not always go right way. But the film manages somehow entertain on some level. And they fit in some teenage nudity as well.
Screw anyone who can't enjoy this film on some level. It's hilarious and it doesn't take itself too seriously at all plus it features Jason in a spaceship. The actors are slightly above porno quality but the effects and kills are memorable..especially the holochamber scenes. Highly recommended for fans of schlock horror.
Very different from any other 'Jason' film I've watched before but still had good old Jason with his machette killing anyone in sight and that's what you gotta love about the guy. The storyline is so out of this world, literally, but it actually works rather well. Reasonable acting and characters, but a few corny one-liners here and there. One KILLER death scene that literally made me say 'That's Cool' plus a few more too. Overall its corny but good Horror fun that will keep the fans pleased :)
Well they finally got Jason outta "CRYSTAL LAKE"....Oh Well @ least the gave him something besides that old jumpsuit to wear....Sci/Fi aint really my thing 'nuff said
Frustrating, because the filmmakers clearly wanted to make an over-the-top celebration of the horror series. The backbone of a decent slasher is here, but the execution is just godawful.
