Summary: A video project realized by Jean-Luc Godrd in 1993, a succint look at a unique image of war. It's a reduced version of his film Letter to Jane, of which Sontag wrote "The film is also a model lesson about how to read whichever photograph, how to decipher the natural un-innocence of the frame, angle and center of the photograph".

It is remarkable that a great filmmaker is able to do so much with so little, in comparison to the vast bulk of contemporary cinema. In addition to the themes of war, violence, art and culture, this film has a fascinating way of juxtaposing the different characteristics of cinema and photography. Surely one of the greatest movies ever made under 3 minutes duration.

very emotional and absorbing. i have mixed feelings about the art references godard summons, especially gershwin, but the drama evoked by a simple picture analysis is, notwithstanding, amazing.
