It's a very ambitious production with a large cast and some great scenes, but it also shows the limitations of the time. Not only in that everything is very obviously stagy, but the actors feel like props. There's also not enough Joan.

Lavish production for Melies, but ultimately this is kind of silly. Another reminder to me to see Dreyer's _The Passion of Joan of Arc_ again
