Vanessa Hudgens and Alyson Michalka played more complex and affecting versions of these roles in Bandslam -- and neither was embarrassed with the name Needy.

The difficulty many of the actors have with Cody's tumbling dominoes of slangy dialogue simply proves what a splendid thespian magic act Ellen Page pulled off as Juno MacGuff. Fox actually does fairly well playing Jennifer before the monster movie conventions take over, hinting at the vulnerability behind her mean girl exterior. This doesn't mean that her friendship with the pretty nerd played by Seyfried makes a bit of sense. It's a contrivance in a movie that eventually is nothing but.

It really wasn't the worst thing I've ever seen, but it wasn't very good at all. I get that they were trying to be comical, but the movie just wasn't that funny, it was boring, and there wasn't a lot of cohesion. There were a couple of decent parts, like when they go to see the band initially. But overall it just lacks. If you want to see a movie with a couple of hot chicks that sucks, just watch a porno instead.

Most of the scenes in Jennifer's Body are utterly inept, the whole package having been derailed as a re-branding of the possession horror movie by the incompetent approach of director Kusama and screenwriter Cody. A callow mess of shamelessly blunt (and fundamentally contrived) dialogue, boorish imagery and soul-sucking inhumanity, its only use is as a contrast to truly brilliant horror comedies -- like Jeremy Saulnier's little-seen Murder Party and The Simpsons' "Treehouse of Horror" series.

I had the lowest possible expectations for this film. Given that Megan Fox is reliably terrible and Diablo Cody's dialogue wore off its welcome 15 minutes into Juno, I was prepared for the worst. The film was just so bizarre and off-kilter that it was mildly enjoyable. I remember seeing trailers that made this thing look like a straight up horror film, but it's really a horror-comedy satirizing high-school romance. Kind of reminded me of Idle Hands. Worth a drunken watch.

A little disappointed because I was expecting a lot more but it failed to deliver the goods in a disappointing first half, though it did pick up towards the end. It had its shining moments, but also its fair share of pointless and silly scenes as well. Megan Fox's character was horrible, and not just evil horrible. It had similarities to 2005's 'Tamara' also. Overall Horror fans may get their kicks out of it, but at the end of the day its just 'OK' and its not a big deal if you give it a miss.

I really wanted this to be the fun cheesy ironic teen horror flick that I've been waiting to embrace with popcorn in my hand and my brain in sleep mode, but the film turned out to be just plain old irritating. Megan Fox can't act at all, but I suppose her creepy plastic surgery face is fit for a scary succubus creature thing. (That was the point of casting her, right? Right?)

"Represents a cornucopia of ideas, both comedy and horror, and the determination of the filmmakers to simply play the odds of getting more elements right than wrong instead of pursuing a purer vision makes it a mixed viewing experience." - Ryan Stewart

Ok, so this movie isnt that good, but it had some redeeming features: 1) Seyfried is a pretty good actress 2) Megan Fox making out with Amanda Seyfried = HOT 3) some amusing dialog 4) not really boring enough for me to say that I would never see it again. Ultimately, its a cool enough movie, but its far from being all that good.

Jennifer's Body doesn't work, nor do any of its individual elements. The writing doesn't fit, the acting is one the whole pretty poor, and there aren't any scares to be found here. There is no reason to watch this film, save for a good performance from Amanda Seyfried. But one performance in a sea of awful is not enough to save the film. Stay away from this one.
