Not only recommendable to Kinski fans, Jesus Christ Savior is a modern approach to Jesus, a Jesus who is portrayed as a revolutionary and far away from the portrayal especially by the Catholic Church. It's sad to see that many people didn't get it although some of the criticism is understandable. However, it is a brave attempt by Kinski.
This recording of Kinski's theater monologue is phenomenal - it shows an artist desperately wanting to shout his message to the world. As Kinski performs his act, tangible contradictions rise: as he preaches about charity, he ends up shouting furiously with the audience; as he raises his hand to quiet them, he lifts it to a position suggesting a Nazi salute. These contradictions not only tell us about Kinski - they ultimately tell us about the human conflict between ideals and concreteness.
First time the world is able to see (nearly) the whole live performance by Kinski. "Jesus Christ Saviour". Highly recommendably to all Kinski fans...Terrific.
