Summary: When underappreciated video specialist Joe Scheffer (Tim Allen) is brutally humiliated by the office bully Mark McKinney (Patrick Warburton) in front of his daughter, Joe begins a quest for personal redemption. He proceeds by enduring a personal make-over and takes martial arts lessons from a B-action star. As news spreads of his rematch with Mark, Joe suddenly finds himself the center of attention, ascending the corporate ladder and growing in popularity. He's determined to show everyone in his life that he is not a nobody, but a force to be reckoned with. (imdb)

I call this bearable because of my love for Partick Warburton (not a big enough roll though) and a stand out performance by James Belushi (and by stand out I mean for him, which is still like saying "Well at least this rotten apple isn't smeared in dog shit"). It also is very basic in terms of plot and character development (about as basic as you can get) but it doesn't do them wrong.

none of the acting is particularly bad, but its the plot and bad dialogue that makes this movie so bad, its hard to belive patrick warburton even considered acting in this movie.

Cookie cutter type film that you'll find covered with dust at the thrift store. If you have a choice between this and "From Justin to Kelly", pick this one. Otherwise, don't pick it.

No, it's not the most original movie, but it's one of the better examples of the genre. Joe Somebody is a legitimately heartwarming comedy that surprisingly manages not to descend into preachy morality. Belushi is great as a washed-up martial artist.
