This slight and understated drama might just include the best acting of Christian Slater's career. It's hokey in spots, but still an enjoyable movie with a rather un-Hollywood ending.

Strange little movie about one small town's obsession over a stranger who claims he came to town to commit suicide.

A weird little picture. The complete lack of realism is disarming but disconcerting, so i never get sucked in, nevertheless the odd triumphant moments in an unforgiving bleakness and the excellent ending lend this picture the big question mark: why make a movie that appeals to no one? Different.

definately a unique love story, and some people may have a bias against christian slater, but hey he's not that bad. you have to have some sort of cold, dead heart to really hate this movie.
