Summary: One of the "Censored 11" banned from T.V. syndication by United Artists in 1968 for alleged racism. A dopey vacuum cleaner salesman works door to door in the jungles of Africa. He knocks on the door of the hut belonging to a group of cannibal African natives, who would love to have him for dinner. To avoid marrying the man-hungry white queen, he hops into the cannibals' stew pot.
Less offensive than simply primitively trivial, Jungle Jitters plays like the dumb, inconsequential sibling to the deplorable likes of Angel Puss. Better than that, it actually finds common ground between blacks and white; both races often fall victim to a compulsive desire to devour door salesmen - even if bored housewives might have their own variation on said concept. Overall: meh.
Once again, they made the right choice in not allowing one of these cartoons to be aired on TV. I'm usually pretty tolerant when it comes to content in cartoons, but this was pretty bad. While not as bad as some of the other eleven banned cartoons, it holds its own when taken in the context of its depiction.
