Generic romantic comedy with a generic meet cute and generic third-act problems, with a sports movie polish to it. Not offensive, just completely unremarkable. I only watched it because it was on HBO and I was too lazy to get up.

Romantic comedy about a physical therapist and avid basketball fan, who gets a shot at love when she is hired to work with an NBA All-Star. There is nothing going on in this good but unsubstantial movie we haven't seen before, save for the two leads stepping outside of their respective boxes. Still, the been-there, done-that nature of the plot doesn't take away from the undeniable sweetness.

Queen Latifah is fabulous. This movie is stupid.

Hollywood stereotype keeps Latifah stuck in neo-Mammy mode. And Latifah isn't a good enough actress to reveal emotional aspiration; neither she nor Patton bring depth to the phenomenon of women who orbit around successful athletes.
