Summary: An alternate reality's Lex Luthor asks the Justice League to save his world from their malevolent counterparts, the Crime Syndicate. (by Etheriel)
A pretty decent addition to DC's animated canon. Owlman is a fascinating character. He and Batman are scene stealers, while everything else seems like an excuse to show off alternate versions of DC heroes, which is still fun.
I quite enjoyed this movie for what it was. Lots of superhero cartoons are released straight to DVD, but I enjoy them because unlike an ongoing cartoon series, the feature length cartoons are one self-contained story and the content is a little darker.
Although the action is slickly animated and excitingly choreographed, I actually would have liked if they sacrificed some of the action for more exposition. Everyone watching this knows the main players, and it would have been nice if they expanded on the backgrounds of their counterparts, or explored the infinite earths concept a bit more. Owlman's diatribes were the best parts, and I wish they had touched on the others' philosophies. The Spectre short was amazing!
Not the best executed or written DC movie, but still worth watching for the re-imagining of heroes and villains. The anti-Batman Night Owl is psychologically one of the more interesting antagonists I've come across in some time.
One of the better DC animated movies, it does well with what it has; unfortunately, there's absolutely no character development with the Crime Syndicate, which is a shame. If it had sacrificed one of the (generally excellent) fight sequences for a little more exposition, it could have been a lot more fun.
Though things really had to be cut down in order to make things digestible for an unfamiliar audience, I really enjoyed 'Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths'. I was able to follow the multiple plot-lines throughout without getting lost. The amount of tension this movie sustains is notable, especially considering most of these heroes are invincible and still have you feeling a sense of dread. The characters all had an impressive depth to them, even with the vast number of heroes involved. Great!
