I adore Darwyn Cooke, but this was just baaad compared to his comics.

DC sure knows how to handle their animated properties (most of the time at least). Glad to see a character like Green Lantern getting a spotlight. Cool voice acting.

Far darker, disturbing and smarter than I had expected, also pretty good and remarkable for picking most of the good bits from the source material. Plus, excellent soundtrack by Manthei.

the sense of the 50's made this flick surprisingly good.

This was a surprisingly good film. Film Noir in parts, Independence Day in others, this animated film succeeds in many ways. This is not kid stuff though. The language is a little rough and people die.

A really great film for fans of the Justice League (and especially Green Lantern!)

Good, but ultimately didn't capture the terrific art of the graphic novel. Also Batman's voice sucked.

While it isn't the strongest in terms of animation (especially when compared against Japanese films), The New Frontier is a welcome addition to many years of fantastic DC cartoons. There's a gimmicky fan moment every six seconds in this one, and the plot, although spread tragically thin, does a fine job of spotlighting some of the less publicized members of the league. Overall, quite enjoyable.

Could have benefited from a longer run-time. Read the New Frontier comics instead.

While Harris makes an impressive Flash and the Martian Manhunter is well-characterised, the plot feels too jumbled and the main players of the League aren't given enough time to shine (especially the Green Lantern, who just miraculously discovers exactly how his powers work right in the nick of time). With the exception of Allen and John Jones, the characters are lifeless cutouts that are devoid of any charm that might come from the stylish fifties setting. A disappointment.

It's only flaw is that it doesn't give itself enough time to fully develop all its ideas. Too many characters to count, origin stories, communism, aliens, government conspiracies, and.. Atlantis! All in 70 minutes. Why wasn't this longer? Why wasn't this a film series? In any case, it's surprisingly good with great voice acting and visuals that surpass the expected. I wanted only more, and that became my biggest problem with it. Surprisingly mature, the end is great and Green Lantern is badass.

Nowhere near as good as the Animated Series and JLU.
