a fluffy sugar candy of Sexploitation spun around a thin spindle of a message for life: the pointlessness of sensory indulgence. But a film that successfully manages to be interesting while reversing this ratio, and one that I enjoyed much is Samsara (2001) http://www.criticker.com/film/Samsara/.

I find it comical that in the "nude" scenes the lead had thick pubic hair when the Kama Sutra says that pubic hair should be shaved every week and that it is not sanitary to have sex with pubic hair (there is truth to that: no crabs, 20% less herpes etc). But the film wasn't bad it was a sad, stereo typical Romeo and Juliette style film with some good love scenes.

Indira Varma (Rome) & Sarita Choudhury (Mississippi Masala) in nude love scenes. More than reason enough for any healthy, heterosexual man to watch, but the rest of the film is good, too, especially Indian superstar Rekha as the teacher of the art, & Naveen Andrews (of "Lost" fame) as the self centered & ill suited ruler. Although the plot takes place hundreds of years ago, the film is relevant on several levels- India's political castes, the woman's role in Indian society, sexuality, etc.

I guess this is pretty risque for Indian film. Not bad, but apart from the sex scenes it's not all that remarkable either.
