Brilliantly performed by a perfect cast, which is its main attraction. The side plots and themes are interesting, but don't carry much weight. I might've honestly preferred an actual adaptation, but this was still surprisingly captivating.

Wonderful original Czech film which blurs reality and stage; I found myself having to really work at distinguishing between the dialogue and action of the film and that of the play. I'll be rather upset if I can't get hold of this on DVD at some point.
