Very funny and wildly absurd special-effects film from Japan. The first half hour was the best. Afterwards, all the odd romance takes a long time. Remains entertaining though.

All that is good and right about Japan put to the big screen through gung ho film making. And honestly: who needs real talent or even real actors? If you're creative enough and have passion, mediocre skills in after effects, ridiculous cosplay costumes, loads of stock soundeffect CDs from you local library and 40 years of ridiculous Japanese Saturday morning sci-fi cartoons to lean on, you are good to go. It almost has an Ed Wood-isch quality.
