Summary: The central conflict of this four-reeler is that the little boy's mother prefers him to maintain interest in his violin, but his new friend encourages him to be more interested in a steamroller. Turns out Tarkovsky can do sentimentality exquisitely. This analogical tale of an artist and an engineer is a beautiful examination of the qualities they bring to our world. Superb! More people need to see this, and given it's short length, you have no excuse not to give it a look.

The name says it all. I saw it as industrialization and beauty, basically. Also, the end was pretty sad... But I love Tarkovsky so of COURSE I recommend this.
