Not nearly as lurid as it wants you to think it is, Killer Nun is a glacially paced drama about a drugged out Nun who works in a hospital. Ekberg is decent in the lead role, but there's not nearly enough sleaze to make the boring story worthwhile.

Druggie nun kills some people. Viewer contemplates taking drugs and killing people after sitting through it. Not enough tits.

Anita is a hospital nun with a whole wardrobe of bad habits. "Based", according to the opening credits, "on actual events in a Central European country not many years ago," this strives for realism without neglecting the promised dosages of sleaze and gore. Anita is convincingly overwrought and receives solid support from an established Euro cast, along with former Warhol superstar Dallesandro as a young doc.

I'm not sure but I think this wants to be some sort of bizarre nunsploitation/giallo hybrid. All I know is that it's very slow and weird and well-directed and nowhere near as sleazy as its title would suggest. Certainly demented enough to be worth a view (especially to see Ekberg's needlessly impassioned performance), but if you're expecting wall-to-wall lesbian nunsex broken up by gory set pieces, this will probably disappoint.
