Summary: Raw. Honest. Naked. "Kissing on the Mouth" is post-college life in close-up. Ellen is sleeping with her ex-boyfriend while trying to ignore the fact that he's looking for more than just sex. Her roommate, Patrick, isn't helping matters with his secretive and jealous behavior. The small cast served as the only crew on this intimate and humorous film featuring real interviews with recent college graduates and a documentary approach to the graphic sex and conversations. A disappointment. The twenty-somethings talking about their feelings in this one are not very insightful, and the voyeuristic sex scenes and genital closeups are gratuitous.

Gah! Awful writing, awful camera work, awful voiceovers, awful acting, awful sound, awful set direction, awful awfulness. Shit was atrocious. I seen a dude jerk his dick till he come in the shower fantasizing about a bitch look like Thrall. Said dude was the director.

Needed to go deeper, some legit characters in here, acting was decent at best, camera work kills most of the good things about it. I admire certain aspects of the actual production, and I appreciate the willingness to go the whole way and show jerking off in the shower and cumming. Ellen is cute so her naked is good but the scenes get ridiculous. Not worth a watch but almost.

I find the "mumblecore" genre addictive, but for a film that's purportedly an analysis of human sexuality Kissing on the Mouth fails to say anything interesting or innovative or analytical about sex. I mean, I get that people like to fuck, but showing it over and over doesn't add new depth to this fairly common knowledge.
