I'm missing out on a great deal of the cultural context, although I was able to fill in some of the details with a little research. Far more troublesome are the subtitles, which are absurdly scant, with huge portions of dialogue going untranslated. Still, I liked what I saw. Ghatak's sense of composition is wonderful, his use of sound and music is inventive and modern, the comedy is pleasant, the characters and their situations are engaging. There's kind of a meta-narrative going on.
