It doesn't have quite as much glossy likeability as the first film, but it's a solid sequel that does have a good deal of heart to it. Oldman makes for an impressive villain, and even though it feels as though it tips from one setpiece to another with much driving force, it's a welcome entry into the Dreamworks canon.

Quite a fast pace, occasionally funny and pretty colours but not too original. It's fun to watch though, if you just want to switch off your brain.

Dreamworks uses its knack for shadow work and lighting to hide the animation's lack of detail. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Some short portions are cute & endearing, but overall the film lacks true heart. It feels like it was written by committee, which if you read about it on IMDb, it was. It needed a single soul and some consistency. And fewer quick cuts. It doesn't even give the audience a chance to enjoy the few good laughs it does have.

I didn't think that this would be any good or even equal to the first one. But this was shockingly an improvement and an enjoyable viewing. To get to know the history of the Panda and his father and also how one could go from being brought down and finding that inner strength, no matter how quirky, is always an uplifting and satisfying watch. It's rare that a continuous film can maintain it's value, and this definitely kept up with it's legacy. Very well done.

I was quite pleased with this sequel. I thought it was as good as if not better than the original. I liked how they delved into Po’s past. I wish some of the other characters would get more character development, but yeah. It’s a really fun movie with great animation, some nice little emotional moments and some pretty damn funny laughs to be had.

I think it was a satisfying sequel to "Kung Fu Panda" . because this animation obeys the rules of writing a standard script , the viewers can't be unsatisfied .

I laughed a bit, smiled some more, but this never got my attention fully, partly because of the overused story, which was predictable until the end. I liked the bad guy.

Comes close to the first film in delivering a spiritual message sugar coated in fun, action etc. But lacks the polish of the first one - esp in writing and direction. Animation is as good, even better. Still fun and worth a watch.

It kept the same excellent choreography and storyboarding of the first film, furthur devleoped the plot and characters and, as an added bonus, Commissioner Gordon has shown himself to be a very capable voice actor. But in the long run it still feels, acts and plays pretty much the same as the first Kung Fu Panda did, and whether that's a good thing or not, would, of course, directly depend upon how much you enjoyedor disliked it's predecessor.

Of course Kung Fu Panda 2 is visually stunning as we've come to expect from Dreamworks Animation. But what elevates this film is the story and the way we experience Po's personal journey and very human development. Whereas in the first film the most impressive aspects were the physical interactions between characters and photorealistic environments, this film manages to convey human emotions in animated animals on a level that has scarcely been reached on film before. Only WALL-E comes close.

It's a superior movie to its predecessor. The first KFP movie saw the start of a general trend upwards in the quality of DreamWorks animated outings, & this second movie certainly adds to that. I enjoyed the character development, the action & animation is still great, & although the script falters in places, it's more than strong enough to survive a 90 minute family movie! Could be considered DreamWorks best; striking the balance between kids movie & genuine quality entertainment very well

Some really good laughs and mostly good voice acting. I didn't like Angelina Jolie's voice acting and Cross, Chan, and Rogen didn't have enough lines. The animation was still pretty top notch. I was disappointed with the cliche flashbacks. The creativity of skirting typical cliches or even parodying them was present in the first and other parts of the second, but for some reason this slipped under the radar.

I'm invested in a film in which Jack Black plays a CGI panda doing kung fu. How? Because it seems like people cared about this. After the surprising quality of the first one, this is not some lazy sequel trying to cash in. It's also nice the Furious 5 get a bit more time. This is actual fun and funny. My mind, asplode.

People seemed to have mixed feelings on this one, the general consensus was that it was decent but not superior to the original. I disagree. Infact, I'd say it's superior in most ways. I found the humor to be vastly improved (I don't remember laughing at all during the first film, whereas I LOL'd numerous times during this), the story and character development are engaging and dark and it still looks beautiful. The action scenes aren't as good but still pretty damn impressive.
