The documentary isnīt that great. Kurosawa is one of the worldīs best and most influential directors, and he deserves something better. Nevertheless some interesting moments.

Nice recollections, but the doc doesn't even touch Kurosawa's visual language, his methods of putting a movie together.

Gives you insight into Kurosawa as a man but doesn't really provide anything on his making of films beyond: he loved making them. While that sounds deep and profound it literally goes into no more detail than that. If you already know about Kurosawa this won't provide you with any new information, if you don't then this would be a great source of information. I also must add that there are a lot of scenic shots not by Kurosawa that aren't very good and the movie dwells on them for far too long.

Solid but dry documentary. I can't imagine watching it again.
