Summary: Vetrivel aka Vel (Vijay) & his friend Ops (Vivek) goes to Malaysia to collect Rs. 5 lakhs which a businessman Gocha (Suman) owed his father Singamuthu (Manivannan), whom Vel believed ran away because of his debts. There, when Gocha refused to pay Vel, & tried to kill him, Vel steals an expensive diamond of Gocha's & comes to India, followed by Gocha's sister, Devi (Trisha), smitten with Vel. Later, Vel learns of his father being Gocha's captive in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh & goes there to free him.
